About Trefula Care Home
Trefula House is a former country house converted into a care home, which closed in December 2024 after being identified as no longer fit for purpose. In 2025, Cornwall Council appointed Cornwallis Care Services to explore its refurbishment and reopening as a modern, fit-for-purpose care facility.
The extensive remodelling includes new staff facilities, reception and a first-floor extension. On completion, Trefula will provide 42 care bedrooms and dedicated staff accommodation, creating a safer, more accessible and higher-quality environment for residents while securing the long-term future of specialist care provision on the site.

Our Home Managers are supported by a Care Coordinator and an experienced team of Health Care Assistants.
All of our care homes strive to maintain our high standards and quality care. We have a multicultural team who work on site, typically made up of:
Administration: Home Admin
Care Staff: Health Care Assistants, Health & Wellbeing Coordinators
Catering Staff: Catering Supervisor, Catering Assistant and Kitchen Porters
Housekeeping Staff: Head Housekeeper and Housekeepers

We partner with award winning Apetito to deliver nutritional, balanced and delicious meals.
Eating and drinking is an important part of everyone’s daily life. In our Homes, we cater for all diets and aim to make mealtimes enjoyable and social occasions. Our kitchens are supplied by Apetito, award winning specialists in catering for the care market, whose recipes are developed by expert chefs, nutritionists, and dieticians to develop dishes that not only look and taste fantastic but are meeting the dietary and nutritional needs of all our residents.
Our Homes offer three substantial, well-balanced hot meals daily. All of our meals can be tailored for special dietary requirements.
Breakfast – Breakfast is served daily from 7:30 am. We have both cooked and continental breakfasts available each day.
Lunch – Our lunch is served from 12:15 pm daily. Our menu varies based on the season and preferences.
Evening meal – This is our last meal of the day and this is served from 16:30pm. We have various choices from lighter hot meals, soup and sandwiches.
